Isn't this the GREATEST idea? I found this on Pinterest this morning, and I have to try it! I think I'll put 20 rocks in it. Maaaaaybe 25. Anyway, I think this would be a great way to stay motivated, plus whoever lives with you would see it too, and you don't want everyone seeing an empty jar that says, "Pounds Lost." This is the kind of motivation I need. Something that lets everyone know I'm trying to lose weight, so that I'm constantly reminded to eat healthy and work out for fear of embarrassment. Yeah, I'm pretty hard on myself. lol
Speaking of working out, you guys would be so proud of me. I've been running a mile every morning, plus weights and lots of crunches. I've been eating healthy and I feel GREAT. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with fruit for lunch. There was bacon on it, but hey, it was just a little for flavor. :)
|It was sooooooo yummy!!!!!|
I also found a "to do" list on Pinterest, and I absolutely LOVE it!
"Set your alarm for 6am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head, get up and start your day. Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt. Add some granola. Now go outside. Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it. When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry. Look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? If you do, good for you. Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this every day and pretty soon you will. Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run. How badly do you want it?"
If these pictures don't motivate you, I don't know what will!
Here's a quote that I'm trying to stick to:
"Breakfast like a queen, lunch like a princess, dinner like a pauper."
Protein and carbs are just fine for breakfast. It's a good start to get your metabolism going, and it'll keep you full for a long time. Just be sure and eat healthy at lunch, and chew slowly. Your body can take up to 20 minutes to realize it's full, so take your sweet time. You'll probably end up eating much less!
Go easy on alcoholic drinks. It actually slows down your body's natural fat-burning process.
Go easy on salt. It can make you look bloated, and cutting most salt from your diet will help your body to lose excess fat faster, and who doesn't want that??
I'm still on my weight-loss competition with my dad and it's going well so far. I have learned to love eating healthy and I'm kind of addicted to working out now! I just wish I had a workout buddy. :( But anyway, I'm not looking at the scale until next week. I feel like it's more motivating to see a few pounds a week than to see my weight fluctuate a little from day to day. The scale can definitely be your enemy, so I try not to look at it too much. Hopefully by the time I weigh myself I'll see a big difference though. My jeans are already fitting better!!! :)
Isn't every girl's dream to have a perfectly flat stomach even when you're sitting down? :) It's my dream!
This one is just amazing! Here's the link to her blog. You can read how she made it happen!
Look how tiny she is in that dress now! She's adorable!
I just love seeing other people's before and after pictures because it reminds me that I can do it too! Anyone can achieve perfection!
Are any of you working toward a weight loss goal?
